Really? I've seen one or two left handed s10's on eBay recently but maybe they were the exception.
We were lucky with our FAMAS that could be modified by the user (just remove the bolt, swap ejector/extractor and change the cheek plate side) but we had no drinking straw on our old gas masks. The new ANP-VP F1 http://www.3emedragons.fr/spip.php?article264 mask has got one but I've never seen it except on the Net.

I don't know. Our resident Dutchman is out on the blue (Cracker I mean) so, if other dutch member can't give us some intel, we'll wait for him to come back.

the dutch use avon masks but they arent s10 s they are s12 s, it is an improved s10 it uses the same drinking straw as s10 ( there fore fits the 90 pattern bottles) but the straw is a lot longer, the eye holes are smaller ( so you cant use the s10 s prescription lens if you need glass es), but generallythey look alike and you cant tell unless they are side by side. davy

I've finally found an Avon canteen for a reasonable price on the Bay. It works OK with the S10 drinking straw. The stud inside the canteen cap connector depresses the O-ring of the straw connector and unlocks it, allowing the water to pass around.

Now, I just need to find an Avon canteen mug (is it same as the cup that goes with the standard Dutch "not NBC" canteen?)

I suppose you could find an unrelated one and put the two together but no cups were officially made to go with NBC canteens because there'd never be a point where you're using them. If you were in an area where you could safely eat outdoors you'd likely have been decon'd and would gear up with different gear.

Well, I imagine nobody would try to eat or boil water for a coffee in a NBC environment but as those canteens are also meant to be used under normal conditions, they are generally supplied with a cup and a carrying pouch (new US canteen, British pattern 90, German canteen with the new cap...).
I've seen an eBay shop selling the Avon canteen AND its cup but the owner answered that the cup is OK for the Avon bottles but it's just there for the picture and I had to buy the Dutch standard (not NBC) canteen/pouch/cup full set if I wanted the cup

In fact as I'm more often drinking coffee in the nature than trying to survive to a Sarin attack, my Avon canteen definitely needs a metal mug
