I haven't tried an HDR yet. With menus like "Bean Salad" and "Barley Stew", I don't know why I haven't dug into one.

But I do have a case of the older yellow HDRs and have a case of the newer "Salmon" colored ones coming so I'll have to try them out soon and take some pictures for an updated HDR page.

Did you do the math on those numbers of MREs?

The initial order for MREs for 2005 was for 3.75 million cases. Then they put in a new order for another 2 million cases and then another order for 1 million cases. And there's another order in the works for an extra 600,000 cases. That's 7.35 million cases of MREs. Wow...that's a lot of meals.

7.35 million cases ...Amazing..

Doing some basic math...
Just in iraq= Aprox 130,000 * 3 mre/day = 390,000 * 365 days
Divided by 12 per case = 11.8 million cases
Of course most are eating ugr,s and/or other rations in base camps most of the time
But the figures are still staggering

My best guess for the iraqi theatre is they consumed in last 365 days
about 1.5-3 million cases of mre's..but its just a wild guess
