The article seems to discuss what the UFO CATCHER ration is all about. It's a claw machine type deal that grabs one of the tubes and inside there are retort pouch(es) with different contents that are similar to what the JSDF consumes.

This is the information on addition service to a ration buyer.
And.. Addition..

To the customer who purchased this Kisara Akeno Ver.
I give one ration to a surprising thing only now!!

The topping of a Harusame-with-hot-sauce bowl (180g, for one man)
The topping of an egg-plant-with-hot-sauce bowl (180g, for one man)

If you buy two WDSs, one ration will give (Only 40 is first come, first served)
Which is given should be looking forward to it!
Class B gourmet of now topic, ration.
"Do you desire to also eat a present?"
It is difficult to translate this text into English.

amazon.co.jp is writing "It does not ship to overseas."
rakuten.co.jp does not have description about shipping to overseas...
Probably, about $50 will be required when you purchase this ration.(It is if it was possible...)

Hmm, Then using a service like Danke-Danke would be necessary. But I wonder, would this make it past customs? I remember something about the sausage containing horse meat...

fdsman,mt Japanese is pretty low level, but that image I think in part said something like "eat yourself or give as a present."

Also, I didn't look into any detail about the UFO catcher thing you mentioned as well, but in Japan there is a common brand of instant noodles that comes in a Styrofoam bowl with it's own strainer (to pour out the hot water used to "cook" the noodles) that has UFO written on them in big letters. Like these http://page3.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/c246685195

Ah, well I know for a fact that the UFO soup and the UFO catcher have nothing to do with each other. The UFO Catcher is one of those grab prize game things, and the ration is a prize for said machine.
