I also saw you got an very close encounter with our tropical sun....ouch!!
Usually when is overcast on the beach is when the sunrays get more stronger due to their reflectiveness with the sea and the clouds....

Use plenty of aloe vera and cornstarch to cool your skin down...also it will minimize the peeling of the skin.....
I envy you....sniff...sniff... I miss my island!!! Probably I will go during Christmas time this year to escape ol' man winter....

Hey, it looks good!
I fear if I want to try this, I'll have to ask someone in the family in Paris, plantain is not very common in Brittany (but sold everywhere in Paris area).

Hi Stef...yes it is good. Plantains or "plátanos" (not to be confused with green bananas!!!) are very versatile. They can be eaten in many ways...boiled,mashed,fried,baked either green or ripe.... BUT..you have to cook it , is not like the bananas...

I bet they get it in France exported from Martinique,Guadaloupe,Guyana or Africa.....

In German they are called "Kochbananen" = cooking bananas. Means they can´t be eaten uncooked. I had several (very delicious) stew´s over there, some contained plantains :D
