Hey DirtyDave - they should make a special MRE for you - kind of like the CarboPack - it'd just have the wheat snack bread, cheese, and beverage base. They could call it the DirtyDave Pack.

I can not knock the snack bread/cracker, cheese, brownie and accessory pack combo. Just as recently as September 2004 I was on my annual dove hunting fest and held court with the future SO relatives with my tasty snacks. But, the accessory pack was worht its weight in gold. It gave everyone ALL they needed. After all what can be more perfect than a handy pack of matches, tabasco, candy , instant coffee and TP?
BTW, took the SO to the deer stand here in South Texas with her in laws and wowed them all with our MREs and FRHs. Too cool and got me in with the in laws.

I hope they do a better job with the egg than the Canadians did with the omelette in their IMP's. That thing is just plain nasty!

I object! The IMP omelette was the pinnacle of ration achievement! Every morning, I would get 2 or 3 of them from the section malcontents, who, like you, failed to appreciate the subtle and satisfying blend of ham and egg. There was a dark side to the Omelette du Jambon, however, it manifested itself in ways that only 8 troops stuck in the back of a 113 could understand, burning rectal gases that even a respirator could not defeat. But then, as George Carlin says, your own farts smell pretty good!
