Do those US in-flight rations still come in a dark-brown bag like the original MREs?
Or are they in-flight rations from back in the day?
And the components, they are mostly like MREs?
Cheers, v curious here![]()

If I interpret your conversation right I guess there is a little disaccord

In usual MRE Menus I (1981)-MRE V (1985), MRE Menus VI (1986), MRE Menus VII (1987) in almost every case

NOT FOR IN-FLIGHT/PREFLIGHT USE (MRE Menus I-III) or

NOT FOR PRE-FLIGHT/FLIGHT USE (MRE Menus IV-VII).

All the menu pouches which contain “BEANS WITH TOMATO SAUCE” were printed with that label, but as you can see, there were exceptions

I guess

MEAL, FLIGHT FEEDING, INDIVIDUAL cases as you can see here:
viewtopic.php?t=1315&highlight=flight+feeding
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2003&hilit=feeding#p16007
I guess that these MEAL, FLIGHT FEEDING, INDIVIDUAL cases were similar to an usual MRE case, but without the menus which contain “BEANS WITH TOMATO SAUCE” , but I do not know, which menus were content instead

Perhaps someone of you owns a case MEAL, FLIGHT FEEDING, INDIVIDUAL?? So please adjust me, if I’m not right

So long mreheater72
