Thank you for all.
It is interesting that they do not have SPECIAL FORCES tab.
I investigated the marron beret by google.
I found description that the soldier of support branch of Special Forces' also uses a marron beret.
Probably they came from Okinawa in Japan.
The detachment of the 1st SFG is stationed to the Torii Station in Okinawa.

You're right Treesuit. My bad. I live near Ft. Lee and see so many patches at Wally and FoodDog, I forget sometimes.

First, you are close but you are still incorrect.
Second, how do you know laughing_man isn’t phishing for information? There is something we use called Operational Security. If this guy is not actually from Japan, and is from say Syria, how would that change your answers let alone your willingness to leave one? Even if he isn’t, this is a public forum. I found it from a completely unrelated search. Don't forget that our enemies have the internet too. The answers to these questions are available using the worldwide web, but why help them?
Lastly, stop speculating. If you don’t know what you’re talking about, keep your comments to yourself. So far, none of you are experts on this topic. If it makes you feel good to anonymously boast your intellectual prowess, use it in a more constructive way; like providing information about our enemies. The jobs of our service members are difficult enough without people providing details about them to whoever wants to know. Will the unit insignia of our Soldiers give the enemy anything they want to know? Maybe. Identifying certain units, their locations, and personnel could help them prioritize their targets. Did laughing man ask those Soldiers if he could post their picture? I doubt it.
Laughing_man: If you’re with us, you’ll remove the photos and close this posting.

Dealer, I'm sorry.
My consideration was missing.
I do not have malice.
I deleted the picture.

Ok...lots of stuff here that needs to be commented on.
First and foremost...Dealer, if you have a concern about a posting on the forums, pleaes contact me directly. I appreciate your concern about Operational Security and you're free to post your thoughts (as you did) about laughing_man's request. But when you direct him to remove the picture and close out a post, effectively telling everyone to stop talking about a subject, you've crossed the line from participant/contributor to self-appointed moderator.
Again - and this goes out to everyone - if you have a concern about a post or thread, PM or email me. Abusive or inappropriate posts have been removed in the past and future requests for deletion will be given due consideration.
Lastly, stop speculating. If you don’t know what you’re talking about, keep your comments to yourself.
That goes completely against the idea idea of a "discussion forum". This is not an "Experts-only Forum". For example, sometimes there's a request for information about a product but no one has any information on that product so we speculate about it. These forums are rife with speculation and I don't see that ending anytime soon.
I won't belabor the point - this is a civilian forum and all opinions and speculation are welcome (within the limits I mentioned earlier). If we appear to be bunch of blabbering nutjobs to the rest of the world, so be it. We're always happy to see a true expert, someone with good knowledge and sources, join us. But we're not so happy when someone joins us and says (effectively) "shut up if you don't know what you're talking about." That's neither helpful nor appropriate.
Now back to your main point. I haven't seen the original picture from laughing_man since he just deleted it, but my impression is that it was of a couple of service members in uniform and was taken in public and he was asking why their berets weren't green. You really seem to be taking issue with some of the identifying information posted by Treesuit - the other posts are just followup questions or off-topic/humorous postings. I'll followup with Treesuit privately to make sure there's no insider knowledge that he posted.

Let's just keep the discussion civil and there won't have to be any post deletions.
