To make things worse: Today I bought 24 complete Dutch Army 24-hrs Rations for only 144 euro. They come complete with 2 entrees! entrees are in tin cans and in pouches.
Luckily I could pick them up, so no S&H had to be payed.
To be honest, I am not a great fan of Dutch rations, because thet lack variety. But since MRE's are almost impossible to get over here, I have to stick to my Dutchies.

Why can't you get MRE's? Is it lack of availability in the Netherlands or is it the customs and shipping regulations?

MRE's are very hard to get here, especially for a reasonable price. Money buys it all, but I don't want to pay 10 euro for a MRE.
IN the Netherlands are no US troops stationed anymore, so left-overs are non excisting. Only the 'ration afficionados' in Germany have a possibilty to get some.

As long as items are send by US Postal Service there are no problems with customs. If items -no matter what- are coming in with Fedex or UPS there's always pa roblem. At least this is my experience.

seems like

the tissue was very soft, the tast was "sweet" as the Dutch macaroni I had before also. Mrs. Housil said, it was similar as this "baby food jars"

You will be disapointed about dutch rations.

There is just a little card board box with:


(brit) crackers, tea, coffee, sugar, candy, bitter-sweet chocolate, tiny pate, napkin, soup, jam...
Since the Dutch troops are in action, they replaced the items by commercial supermarket items. I can post pic´s of it you want

Usually the Durch ration comes without any entree!!
They come extra and are available in cans or (same) bags as used in UK rations but 400g instead 350g



I still have "some" of them pm me - but postage will "kill" it
But the manufacturer of the cans is the same as the manufacturer of the French RCIR cans
