All cheese and butter is white, until it's dyed by adding Annato, which turns it orange. Also used to dye butter yellow.
It's funny, when you have to pay more for the natural color than for the dyed stuff...

It looks like they may be even phasing out cheese spreads in meals as there is only 3 meals in the C menu that includes it. Im figuring with all the extra munchies in them they"re trying to balance out the calories. I just carry a can of aerosol cheese in my pack so I'm covered. Also epicenter has the spreads for .79 plus freight which is fair.

I'll go out on a limb here bigboy and say "no way"; Cheese is here to stay in field rations.

Yeah, the C Cases aren't real production, they're sorta what's left on the line it really looks like, although the word is they're over-runs. Either way what's in them doesn't reflect what's in A and B cases which are what the military uses.

I'll have to chime in with C-Rats: cheese is a staple like the crackers. Now if they could just give us more flavors of cheese spread in the meals..........

C-rats,
Hey what about Pimento Cheese Spread....? Oh yeah I found an old C-rat cheese spread can in the woods one time and I kid you not it said "cheese spread, fortified, with pimentos"

Now I don't know what pimento's taste like but it must be something pretty unique?

I have eaten TONS of MRE's off of eBay and never, ever had a problem with gas or anything OTHER THAN...whenever I eat any MRE component my shit turns green, army green. I don't know why and I have mentioned this on the forum elsewhere. I guess it is so when you take a shit in the field it helps to camoflauge it a bit better...

Treesuit:
If you've never had pimentos, I'd guess you aren't missing anything. I'm not a very big fan. They're little pieces of peppers, nasty little pieces.

Question is, do they include an additive in the cold weather/arctic rations to help with the camo?
If anyone can confirm that either way, words will do, no pics needed
