Wow very interesting.
also from that link and page the guy wrote -
"Note: Several sources are reporting that food grains will be in short supply this year because farmers have planted so much government-subsidized, GMO corn for ethanol."
Same situation here in the UK a decade or so ago "health and saftey" declared that farm shops could no longer sell their produce to the public directly as the government had no
control over what was being sold (thanks to euro regulations), and so gave english farmers incentives to grow rapeseed for bio-diesel, to which over 80% of our crop growing farmers did.
Over the past year or so while we hit our econimic downturn and food became expensive to import (which 90% of it now is) our gov tried to persuade farmers to start growing crops again and also allowed them to
sell local fresh produce from their farms again, eggs, milk, cheese, meats ect.. of course at around 500% marked up prices because farm food is "green" and "sustainable" also its now fashionable too.
Living in the lakes district of the Uk meant untill these bans were put in place most of our foods were from local farms, every farms butter, cheese was different and so much better than what you buy in supermarkets.
Just makes you think WTH governments are thinking sometimes, cutting off our own internal foods supply chains ect...
On the other hand though, they do provide MRE's, Ratpacks ect...well kind of
