exactly! Part of my job is fire investigation, so I'm always around asbestos when I have to look at some old warehouse, etc... still alive.

oh and I have 9x9 asbestos tiles on my basement floor... they have been sealed with vinyl sheet flooring now, for the same concerns cap has.

I hope those rations find a good home, but you are right to worry about safety, especially right now

I worked in remote USAF radar stations in Alaska for 20 years. To this day many of those facilities are so old they still have 9x9 asbestos floor tiles, exposed pipe insulation (though encapsulated), asbestos filled doors, ceiling tiles, etc. No problems unless it got nicked, compromised, or removed and then it was dress up in sperm suits and bag the entire room with filtrated air exiting level 5 yatta yatta yatta. I actually like asbestos products. I used to have asbestos welding gloves and I could hold a huge hunk of red hot glowing metal in my hand and not even feel it. I miss those gloves, they would have been wonderful for changing hot suppressors on gun barrels. I think Canada may still use asbestos and mine it.

Both Asbestos and even Fiberglass are dangerous if floating in the air and you breath it in. Solid form, no problem.

BTW, did you know that the snow they used in filming the Wizard of Oz was all asbestos or at least contained it? It's a horrific thing for me to watch now knowing those actors were working in an environment where it was literally snowing asbestos.

if I remember right, wasn't the scarecrows costume made of asbestot too... the snow definitely was... insane
