Perhaps true, but I don't care... Yeah, I got this pack out of a CR1M I bought a year ago here in Oz. How difficult would it be to put one of these into a nice re-sealable gusseted retort like any other freeze-dried entrée for inclusion in a ration? The cost per-serving is only pennies, weighs almost nothing and who doesn't like Ramen?
Personally, I enjoy these noodles in various flavors and they make a nice hot comfort meal. I would not be disappointed to find this in a ration some time, somewhere out in the field.
#1 If wet packed they would need to be modified to not break down with being in fluid for a long time, this would also add more weight to the ration.
#2 The dry weight is low but the dry size is pretty large and they are just as crumbly if not more than MRE Crackers, so you'd end up with Broken Noodles.
I know that the Australian CR1M does (or did) contain Mi Goreng noodles, packaged much like Ramen. Steve did a review of the CR1M and the noodles can be seen at this link:
So I guess it just depends on if it can be easily worked into a ration or not.
