The 2 slices I gave my scouts seemed to look okay and weren't brown but they didn't look like the picture either.
Can you tell us what they looked like? Brand and manufacture date? Mine have all been brown and were of recent manufacture.
No I cannot...There were Bridgeford but I don't know what the manufacture date was and have since discarded the pizza wrappers. I do remember however that it wasn't brown like the pic...although it may have been turning that direction as far as color. Sorry I couldn't be more help

Daves45auto did a video review of this ration and had the same experience.

I picked up a couple of the Sterling pizzas, the one that I opened was brown and had an "off" smell to it. So much so that I didn't even taste it. Don't know if that's the way MRE pizza is supposed to smell or not. Anyway, I found a Bridgeford pizza on Bass Pro's website of all places! It should be in on Tuesday. When it comes in I'll open the other Sterling and take a couple of comparison pictures.

How did they compare?

So I got a chance to heat the two up and do a small comparison. The Bridgford pizza is noticeably lighter in color than the Sterling and it had a fresher smell. You could smell the bread and sauce distinctly. It was dry, but the essence of pizza was there. The Sterling had a sour, off putting smell to it and it looked awful, but tasted okay. Personally I think the Bridgford product is superior. I imagine it would be pretty demoralizing to open an MRE and get something like the Sterling product. Just my two cents.

I agree.
I had like 10 Bridgefords. I think I have like one left.
Not bad for a slice of pizza in a bag. Lol

If you get lucky you can score the Bridgeford ones at Walmart in a 2 pack from around $7 and about the same from Cabelas
