For me, I voted "never". My wife calls me "weirdo" or just looks at me and shakes her head, but never "nutcase". :-)

well, i generalized it, so weirdo would be close enough.. so yeah, I hear it fairly often when I mention my tendencies. I also consider "the look" a comment of the same level.

My wife would never call me a nutcase when I eat a MRE, because she is very broad-minded in this regard. Further she has to be a nutcase herself, because she likes and also eats MREs, too :D .

Most people are a little nervous about offending people who show an interest in military paraphernalia. You don't want to get something started with someone who owns an M-16 AND ate Country Captain Chicken for lunch.

Not a lot of people know i eat MRE's.

But the ones that do mostly think of it as either funny, weird or cool.

I voted just once a week, but that's because I don't eat them that often. If you took my wifes cummulative total, it'd be a LOT higher. At least my boys enjoy them with me when we go hiking. (Don't get between my middle son and the Clam Chowder!)

not particularly nutcase. but an occasional weirdo from my wife and parents. people at work find it a little odd also.

shortly afterward, the Marines were ordered
to not wear their khaki leggings.
