MREs from 09/2007 on eBay right now

Post by kman » Wed Nov 28, 2007 12:27 am

If anyone is looking for some super-fresh MREs, there's a guy on eBay who has some A and B cases from 09/07 (Insp. 09/10):

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0178351845

He's asking a slight premium for them at $60 per case, Buy-it-Now, but his shipping is fair and doesn't look inflated. $60 is a bit high, but if you want the absolute latest, they're probably worth it.

If you check the 2007 MRE Menus and Improvements

http://www.mreinfo.com/us/mre/menu-xxvii-2007.html
and
http://www.mreinfo.com/us/mre/mre-improvements.html

you can see that the Case A menus only have few little things new to them - but the Case B's have two new entrees.

For Europeans;

Original Verp. Karton MRE A 1 - 12 04/2010 US Army
Karton wurde am 11.05.2007 verpackt.

First time i've seen such a new one
But bidding is already at 71 euro's with 5 days of bidding to go

I want this one really bad. But i'll just wait and see how crazy i am when bidding almost ends. I'm guessing this case will cost around 100 euros. That's 12 dollars/MRE, expensive :?:

You have to be careful with those MREs from early in the year - a lot of times, it takes until April or May until they get the new menus in the cases. So even though a case might be marked 02/07, it might still contain the 2006 menus.

The cutoff dates vary and April is usually right on the edge. The MREs will still be super-fresh, but you might not get the 2007 menus. That's why I was happy to see the 09/07 MREs for sale - August/September is usually safe.

Thanks for the warning kman.
But the newest i have now are 2005 mre's, so i'd be happy with 2006 or 2007.

Cool. How much did you pay for it?
The one on ebay sold for 91 euros, about 134 dollars.

Man...I remember when 91 Euros was about 92 US dollars. The exchange rate is pretty painful now for stuff coming this way but for you pound- and euro-based guys, it's got to be good times. Well...except for shipping...
