I can't believe this MRE was around for such a short time! Meal Ready to Eat Menu 17, Beef Teriyaki, is about as close as you can get to Japanese food with a US Military Field Ration. Surprisingly, the Teriyaki main was very tasty, featuring a rich umami flavor with a good balance of sour and sweet. I just wish this meal kit had rice! I wonder if it was replaced because it was too expensive to produce because I'd have to imagine it was popular with the troops.
