I haven't personally tried them but from what I've heard, the only company that doesn't sell poor tasting stuff for long term food storage is Mountain House but I suggest that you buy some and try it for yourself before you make any desicions.

Augason Farms - Yea or Nay?

I don’t really believe that’s true, there are actually a fair number of suppliers that make a decent product. AlpineAire & Backpacker’s Pantry are two big firms right off the top of my head. Peak Refuel is a recent entrant. Taste is subjective, but I think they all do a pretty decent job. For my part I think most of the items can be put together with careful shopping at any decent grocery.

Yes, there are a lot of small batch, compared to MH, companies making great product. Stowaway Gourmet and Pinnacle right off the bat. Check out Daves45Auto on YT for reviews of others. Not saying they are cheap, but better than a bucket of beans and rice stored in the basement.

I have the 25# of rice w/canned meat + veggies in sealed tubs + a few jugs of water. the basics for survival - just looking to add variety.
