Mixing beverage bases with wet pack fruit

Post by steve1989 »

I just thought of this during a review the other day and tried it out again in a beverage bag. Man.. this is a great way to utilize two components that many times go to the wayside.

Canadian IMP ice beverage base + apples and mix in beverage bag. Lordy it's a winner. Taking half to the freezer and reporting back.

US MRE might work with fruit cocktail or pears. Peaches with creamer could be nice too. Anyway.. here are some pics. Hope someone else enjoys this combo here as much as I am right now. Usually gave the imp Ice beverage bases away.. never again! Hehe

Awesome idea, Steve!

I Just had a 2019 Indian Chicken IMP, had fruit cocktail and lemon-lime bev base in that one, wish I would've tried that out now haha.

The fruit soup is a true experience- I will keep a look out for some for you and cortex both to try out. They're so unique! RC Gusto made a near identical replication of the raspberry- that was impressive.

I wonder if something similar could be done with the US MREs. i.e. spiced apples with orange beverage base? Ugh, no way. :P How about mixed fruit with lemon lime beverage base? That might turn out, unfortunately I don't have any way to try it right now.
