IIRC, the Greek army used to include supplementary cigarette packs with there rations, I think they were just normal civvie packs though.Hunglikechrist wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2019 7:44 pmJust joined, took awhileso this is my first post. Cigarettes in rations? Yeah, right after they return condoms and corkscrews.

Re: Cigarettes in accesory packs
Reading WWII history I have to wonder if we would have won had they not kept our guys supplied with an enormous, steady stream of smokes.
As an aside, I'm reading Anthony Beevor's book about the Ardennes offensive now, and he starts by describing the situation between the Normandy invasion and the late Fall of 1944. Some of our guys discovered a juicy black market for misappropriated supplies in France. It got so bad that up to 63 million packs of American cigarettes were being stolen from the supply chain each month for sale to civilians.
Gas, rations, coffee were also worth their weight in gold. A guy with a case of 10 in 1s could have just about anything he wanted in Paris,

Re: Cigarettes in accesory packs
I have 12 MREs for emergencies. I duct taped a pack of Camels or Marlboro Red with each.
Adds something I think was missing!
