In my opinion this is not a Special Forces ration, but just a early issue 12hr ration pack. I think the only SF ration that I have heard of them having is a "Jungle" variant of the operational ration pack. But not that I have never seen the Jungle ration in person.

Yeah, it seems like an early 12h ORP... Where did you get the info that it was for special forces?
It doesnt make a lot of sense to me that its for SF from the contents and the size...
I have Spanish rations permanently, feel free to ask :!:

As I've heard personally from Scotsman1984, who fought in Iraq during that time and was issued these exact rations, these were simply 12-Hr ORPs, nothing to do with Special Forces at all.

I reckon I might know where the 'Special Forces' came from :-)

I saw these listed on ebay UK a month or so back - pretty good price at around £80 for 10 I remember.

They were definitely listed as 'UK Special Forces Rations'.

Now who knows, but I can say they are rare as far as supply goes and I have seen not another listing since. Lots of ORP's and single meal UK MREs.

"Special forces" a very common eBay up selling term, a way of catching the eye of the unwary.

I take them with a pinch of salt, in my years of service I've never heard of Special Forces only rations. Indeed Special Forces are trained in survival techniques so they can live without rations if necessary.
