A Case MRE's Supplied in Hurricane Maria

Post by BoloPR » Mon Oct 01, 2018 2:40 pm

Looking to trade and/or sell these two cases for anything international or individually. Also I'm from Puerto Rico so pardon me if I''m doing something wrong, we civilians saw these for the first time when the storm hit us. Most people tossed them away because they didn't like them. I became fascinated by them.

Selling the cases or individually.

Nothing wrong if the disaster is over and they are going uneaten. Waste not want not as they say. Welcome to the forum.

If you're in a situation where people need MREs, I'd wager that carrying around a box to make $40 is the last thing on your mind.

Well if they are tossing them away because they don't like them, they probably don't need them... Completely reasonable to keep them for yourself imho

I think you may have misinterpreted what I was saying. I'm not saying that it's unreasonable to keep and sell them by any means. As long as they've gone to the intended recipient, and they have been able to find sustenance elsewhere, do with them as you please.

Dekard asked what people would think about throwing away a box had they known it was worth $40.
What I'm saying is that on an Island that's been ravaged by a category 4 hurricane where homes and infrastructure has been destroyed, families displaced and potentially thousands dead, I think that even had they known, carrying around a 21lb box to sell on the internet and ship out probably would have been towards the bottom of the priority list. Perhaps I'm taking this the wrong way, but asking whether or not these victims would be kicking themselves over tossing away $40 of military food seems a bit in poor taste.

BoloPR, I'm glad that you've seemingly weathered the storm well. As a welcome to the forums and an apology for hijacking your post, why don't you PM me your address. I'll send you over a dutch 24hr ration free of charge to get you started.

ohh i'm sorry, i'm from the other side of the world, no hurricanes here, I didnt knew what was the scale of the incident... i guess you are right on that, you probably have much more in your mind than if something is worth it or not...

I'm sorry if my question is stupid. I'm new to all of this.
For a dummy like me, can someone explain, are these meals like 12 hour MRE's? What do they look like? What would one expect to find inside? Just so I know, how much is a box shipped to 55901?
