British 24 Hour Ration Packs
Alright guys?
So I got my first ration pack delivery today! It's a British 24 Hour ration pack, specifically menu 18, expiry date around the end of 2019. I feel a bit weird posting it in International Rations as, to me, it's pretty local, but no matter.
I'm going to be doing a review on this over the next couple of days, but I just wanted to ask if what the consensus is on the current run on British rations? I had a bit of a nosey in the box and I have to say, it's pretty well-supplied, plenty of variety in terms of mains and snacks, and enough isotonic drinks to get you through a long day of trekking. I'm just curious as to other people's experience with this one before I get stuck in.

Re: British 24 Hour Ration Packs
ORP's are in my top 3 favourite rations of all time. I like the newest ones but I have to say that the ORP's from a couple years ago were better. I love biscuit browns but they don't show up much now, and I'm not a huge fan of the silver-foil packaged beverage powders compared to the older tan-coloured ones. But the entrees and desserts are great.... aside from the sesame bar bricks that break teeth. Hahaha

I've got the sesame seed bar in there, so I'll keep that in mind, hah! Don't really fancy a trip to the dentists at the moment.
At least one of the beverage packs is tan-coloured, the rest being silvers, so I should be able to see for myself the difference in quality!

The sesame bars are supposed to be 3 thin bars but they have all fused together.GingerBritscuit wrote:I've got the sesame seed bar in there, so I'll keep that in mind, hah! Don't really fancy a trip to the dentists at the moment.

If your tan-coloured beverage powder pouch is blackcurrant or raspberry you are in for an amazing experience.

I have cola, orange, tropical and apple. I've heard the blackcurrant is out of this world and I'm sorely disappointed I didn't get one in mine! Oh well, there's always Ribena.BTemple wrote:The sesame bars are supposed to be 3 thin bars but they have all fused together.

I haven't been able to get my hands on an ORP yet. I've seen and heard great things about them. Hope you enjoy yours!

The silver ones are just gross, super fake tasting, and the sesame bar is sticky, and hard, but honestly pretty good. Everything else in there from the one that I have had is pretty top notch!GingerBritscuit wrote:I've got the sesame seed bar in there, so I'll keep that in mind, hah! I will let you know for sure how that one turns out, Nighthawk, though my money is on it being not dissimilar to flat cola.Nighthawk1097 wrote:COLA!?! I for sure wanna know what that's like.

The website I got my ORP from sells them for £9.99, but with international shipping at around £15, I can see why they don't end up Stateside as often!

I saw that you'd been doing a bit of a series on ORPs recently, Simon, I'll have to watch it!
