Hi Rudi,
That's great!
If you are going to eat some of them (I have no doubt about this point!), take a picture of yourself before you look like the president of Ukraine

Cool stuff - and great pics! I have a couple of cases of 1981-1982 MREs, too, but I've only opened the cases - I haven't actually tried any yet.

Great Rudi, these are in my opinion the „real“ MREs! These are the eldest MRE-cases, I have ever seen (DLA 79!) and still in very good condition! These must be one of the first MREs produced after the MCIs were knocked out (there are MCI-cases with DLA 79, too).

Did you notice that the producer printed on the case is “Right Away Foods Corp.”, printed on the MRE is “Cadillac Products, Inc.” I have just noticed that by careful studying the pics!

Its really amazing, what some people in Germany store in their basements :D :?: ! I think there are many unexplored “treasures” that have to be found next time :D !

explanation

Post by rjmeylan » Thu Apr 26, 2007 3:58 pm

Right Away Foods packed the box. Cadillac Foods was a sub-contractor that packed the MRE's. Inside the MRE's are all kinds of sub-sub-contractors. That's not uncommon.

Hey, great pic's.

I thought that the "V-meals" were vegetarian meals, so no meat. But Meatballs with BBQ-sauce? Isn't that odd, or is it me who's knowledge is lacking?
