My First Case of MREs - 2007 Sopacko Menu A

Post by Charles » Fri Sep 15, 2017 6:41 pm

After waiting on pins and needles for the past week, it has finally arrived!!!

The box was a bit crushed on the corner.
I purchased this case on ebay for $50, so I wasn't expecting a pristine box of brand new MREs. After looking up the date code (7149) I determined that these MREs were in fact a decade old.

Upon inspection today, I noticed that someone had removed the TTI...

TTI has clearly been peeled off.
I can only assume that these MREs had been stored too hot, otherwise there would be no reason for someone to tamper with the box.

So here I am sitting in front of 12 questionable MREs, trying to keep myself from tearing into them
Feel free to ask me anything!

Also, I'm wondering if anyone else here picked up the other two cases, as there were three in the listing.

Also also, I'll probably end up giving a couple of these away in the near future.

Cheers!

Very nice! Thanks for sharing.
If you do open one, which menu do you think you'll open?
Take care.

Good question!
I'd probably say either the omelet or the veggie burger. Both are horrible abominations so I wouldn't feel bad about tearing them open.

I might upload a video of my attempt at eating a 10 year old cheese omelet with veggies just for the fun of it

There will be stuff in all of those you can still eat. If not the whole lot, which is quite likely

Very nice! I don't really have much to trade, but if you decide to sell any of them let me know :D

Removed the TTI? That's dirty pool!

Did you know the date code before it arrived? How was the sellers rating?

Actually, even if they were store in normal or cool temperature, I bet the inner circle of the TTI would still likely be dark after 10 years of age. Still.... pretty low for someone to intentionally remove it.

I know... The TTI was already removed in the seller's listing as well as the date code shown. I figured I'd take my chances anyway. $50 for my first case, can't complain

Also, not entirely sure if it was the seller or someone who owned it before them.
