ChiliMac LRRP
Tired of waiting, had to bust open one open.
After the Chicken and the Egg, came the "Omelet"!

Finally, found a Bacon cheese spread, after all this time.

Bacon cheese and peanut M&M's. You scored on that one for sure.

Re: ChiliMac LRRP
The ChiliMac LRP is one of the best in terms of entree and sides. If you ever get another one hold on to the bacon cheese spread and put it on some vegetable crackers. I find that it tastes better than on a normal cracker but that's just my taste. Although my pallet was destroyed last time I had that LRP because those M&M's were slightly rotting. Ate em anyway

I know how tempting it can be to open a fresh case of rations right next to you. What year was it made?
Re: ChiliMac LRRP
Ahh, the memories...
Back in 1971, when LRRPs were brand new, I really looked forward to a nice bowl of chili because I hadn't had one since I arrived in Vietnam. I was perhaps too eager and didn't let my LRRP reconstitute long enough. The result was "mud and rocks" with gritty sauce and tooth-breaking beans. You cannot imagine my disappointment.
I am sincerely happy for you,

These were 2012 packed, lugged the case out of the shed. Yellow bands. I have 1 unopened case left. I think it's in the bathroom closet. Somewhere.

Re: ChiliMac LRRP
Cool! I presume those have Diario branded coffee in them. I wonder if they're dry molded. There was a seller on eBay (and you probably obtained yours from them) that had a number of 2012 LRP cases for sale a few months ago. I've ordered two or three cases from that seller, and all of the coffee was dry molded. That's something of a surprise considering 2012 wasn't that long ago.
