Looking for ration cold weather

Post by Zackattack6644 » Tue Jul 04, 2017 7:48 pm

Hello all

I'm looking for ration cold weather meals that are complete ( both portion a and portion b).

I'm willing to trade vintage mre components along with c ration cigs or c ration components.

If anyone has a complete ration cold weather please let me know. Especially if you have the fruit soup and chocolate covered cookie.

Shoot me a private message any time

Zack

Those are too rare now. You can probably find a set of 96 or 98 made by Wornick. But RAFCO made RCW's are like unicorns now.

Yeah to find one of the older ones with the fruit soup will be next to impossible.
I've only ever had one RCW in my life and it was a 1996 by Right Away Foods, and even that was not easy to find at all.

I was so lucky to have bought two of mine (one with fruit soup) on eBay with no other bidders. There's currently one set listed on eBay going for over $100 + shipping if you're anxious enough. http://www.ebay.com/itm/272739826612?_t ... .S2.R1.TR2

I didn't pay anywhere near that amount. I've been checking eBay religiously for the past few months and I've only seen two listings thus far. They're hard to come by but maybe you'll find one someday. Even current production MCWs are becoming harder and harder to find.

Looks like that fruit soup is going to cost every penny of what it's worth!

Last Rafco I traded, I took a bit in trade value for it - and I felt like I should have asked about double that. But it was to a good friend and a reviewer. Someone who filmed it.

They are worth it - they were only made for one year. Personally, I wouldn't even trade one for a K Ration. K Rations are less rare and valuable as far as I'm concerned. You don't see Rafcos every day. I see WW1 Rations pop up more often.

So if you want to get a Rafco - your best best is start reviewing - or bid 200 on that one on Ebay.

PS
Hey Zack - what ever happened to our deal for the Newports? I still got all your stuff in a box waiting over here. If you changed your mind, lemme know.

Lol, I wonder if the person who listed that eBay post would've ever thought he was going to make a few hundred dollars off of two cold weather MREs. I can just imagine him waking up tomorrow morning, booting up the computer and going to eBay then promptly jumping with excitement saying "Holy cow! I had no idea these would go for $200!!!!".

Hahahah! I know - I told him it was a rare one and offered 80 BIN - he said he would do that but didn't know how to end the listing... oh well lucky for him.

I think it's cool really - it's his only item up for sale. I'll bet the money is going to help him pay for bills or something. I'm just going to pretend the money is going towards groceries to feed his family. Yeah, that's it! Now I feel better!

Wow! I wish I would have sold the case I had... I ended up trading all the ones I had, but I know they all went to some excellent people!
