Italian MRE
Great site. I've seen numerous products from other countries, but I've never seen Italian MRE. Does anyone have info or traded for them? Curious. Thanks.
I don't have any info posted on the main website yet but check out this thread from beppo for some pictures and review:

I don't think many countries spend too much time on breakfast as a ration item. While the British rations do have a lot of coffee and tea and some tasty biscuits, they really only include lunch and dinner entrees.
I'd say that Canada probably makes the best effort at breakfast since they offer Breakfast/Lunch cases of IMPs.
Personally, I don't miss breakfast MREs too much...I'd happy just eating the crackers and peanut butter (or whatever) for breakfast.

Why do they not go much on brekfast?
Isnt brekkie the most imporatant meal of the day?
Spain is having extra rations for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The italien ration contains extra, equal, sections (cardboard boxes) for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The German EPa contains a whole (continental) breakfast like 2 bag´s of coffee, two bag´s of tea, lot´s of sugar, creme substitute, a can of "whole grain bread" 170g, 2 can´s of marmelade (not jam!), 3 can´s of pate etc..

I forgot the biscuits (called "amour sheet´s"

This is the EPa-breakfast only:

The UK rations are having an extra breakfast bag at their rations too . Also "unnumbered" amount of tea, chocolate drink (3bag´s), sugar, creme substitute...

As the french don´t have a breakfast usually, just a hugh mug ("salad bowl"

(The french changed the biscuits, the new taste a little bit "soapy" to me)
So the only "army" without a breakfast ration is the american. There isn´t a "breakfast-MRE" (yet!!

But eating habits are different from country to country...

i feel the same about that biscuits, the ones in the silver foil package were better tasting then this ones... i acctually have a case of french rats and in the ones i got they also changed the cheese, its not HAPPY COW anymore, i got silver cans called FROMAGE FONDU, they are the best cheese in rations i ever had, very delicious...housil wrote: (The french changed the biscuits, the new taste a little bit "soapy" to me)

"Bistrot gourmand" never heard about this brand
It sounds like a big meal factory for the school/offices cafeterias and canteens.
in the 80's the main cheese brand in the rations was "La vache Grosjean", it was also sold on the market but only fresh, in carboard boxes.
+1 for the "soapy tasting new French biscuits"

But I´m glad that they replaced the (austrian!) "Happy Cow"- cheese. I didn´t like it. It was tasting a little bit to "rime" to me...
