Didn't even bother cleaning anything, the smell was so strong that it went straight into the trash.

Oh man, I've been through the same thing, Nod. I bought two ARPOL 24hrs about a year & a half ago. Sent one to Gundog and I opened the other on camera.
Gundog ironically dubbed it: The MRE of Death

It was putrid in a way that would permeate and stick to your sinuses for the rest of the day.

I've bought from Lechistanduke. He only sends one at a time because he can send it as a "gift" and he can just throw a million stamps on it. That's how I got mine. Mine arrived fine but his method is prone to failure from damage.

I have a supplier who sends me 6 to 9 at a time packaged carefully.

These SRGs are a bitch to ship because the cans have a tendency to want to puncture the bag from the inside. So you can't stack them, you can't really do anything with them.

I have to put it cross ways in a large flat rate box and wrap it in bubble wrap. Never had a problem.

I charge about $10 more (forum members don't pay the ebay price), which is a small price to pay for getting it in 2 days, not damaged, no customs.

SRGs are one of my favorite rations. Good entrees, stove, water purification, a useful bag....those metal hooks :D

Not trying to give a sales pitch, just pointing out there are ways to avoid the heartburn of getting stuff from overseas......for about the same price.
