Norwegian armed forces combat ration?

Post by Geggemann » Wed Mar 01, 2017 11:01 am

I'm wondering if any of you guys have had the opportunity to test this combat ration?

When I was in the military in -95/-96 we got the RSP cans (which some of you have tested :D ), and on larger exercises we got this. I haven't seen it since, and there's little to no information online.

I still have a main course and a packet of biscuits from a packet I got to take home:

"Sei i rømmesaus" is Pollock in sour cream sauce, and "Vetekex" (it's in swedish) is wheat biscuits

I recognize those biscuits!
Sorry, no I haven't seen them either (not exactly been looking either), but I just wanted to say I they have to be the same biscuits that were issued to the Swedish military.
Suddenly I remember them from back in -94 when I did my 10 months.
As far as I remember the biscuits, they were more or less copies of "Mariekex", however 20 years can do weird things to your memory...

Yes, the biscuits tasted just like "Mariekex", so they're not so special :D

yep i have eaten a bunch of them back in 1994 when my unit did trails for the supply.
remember the smal boks was like a breakfat module with drinks and spreads, chocolate bar
the big box was dinner and so on,getting old so i dont recl al of the stuff.

these dinners was made in tromso by Drytech the first run that they made.
chicken curry
cod with white sauce
sei med løk=pollock with onion
beef stew

"Sei i rømmesaus" is Pollock in sour cream sauce

these rations was not in use for a long time, just trail before the green plastic wrap ones (3 Chambers)

I had a memory of them saying it was a trial run, but I was unsure if I remembered correctly :D No wonder I haven't seen anyone mention it here then...

I remember that the chocolate bar was very good, but the coffee was just regular Nescafe

Lol! Ironic, since the Swedish rations actually contain Norwegian biscuits, "Havrekjeks"...
