Not sure EXACTLY the menu option... a business associate of mine mentioned that he remembers the LRP with potatoes (?) when he served in Vietnam in '70-'71 (he was a pathfinder). He said it was nicknamed "shrapnel" or "(something) and shrapnel" because it never seemed to fully rehydrate.
Any idea what this may be and where I could get one? Would like to give it to him if I can find it.
Thanks guys!!

There was a menu called "Pork and scalloped potatoes" maybe this is the one he was talking about? Ebay is your best bet, or maybe another member can on the forum can help you.
Re: ISO Vietnam-era LRP/LURP

Drew78, I may be incorrect, but I always thought that the green bag LRRP's were from the 1970's vintage. The "cloth" type ones were the earlier version. Then in the 1980's came the brown bag LRRP's (which came 16 rations to a case IIRC).

I have a few of the cloth version and I am pretty sure they have the potatoes. But I won't be home to check until Tuesday.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm relatively new to the world of rations and it's cool to hear and learn about the different "eras" of this stuff. I'm still interested in the Pork and scalloped potatoes, ideally from a 1968-1971 production date. Will keep my ears open. If anyone would like to get rid of one I'd certainly be interested. I've gotten a couple messages from folks already - again, much appreciated!
