Birthday MREs

Post by Rand » Mon Jan 16, 2017 3:52 pm

Was just wondering if any of you guys have an MRE or two from the day you were borne? Was thinking it might be kind of a neat thing to have.
Going to try and work my way through other countries before coming home and trying US MREs.
Tried so far : Lithuanian menu 10,5. Russian Emercom 24hr.French,UK, Canada, Germany

Guess I could have worded the question better to include rations and everything else. I picked up a Gillette safety razor from 1972 and want to start adding a few different things here and there.

Well if I could find some sort of ration from January 1987 I'd probably like the novelty of that. I actually never thought about it before now.

only thing I have is a CA .38 special produced in 1975. Now I would love to get my hands on a 75 Bronco, Scout, or FJ cruiser.... ;)

As I was born in 89 I'll stick the few bits of the Berlin Wall I have as a memento from my Birth year but its a neat idea.
Back in 2008 when I was at University I did eat some 1984 and 1985 MRE entrees so I can say I've eaten food older than me.

I have two MREs that are dated within a day or so of my birthday - but certainly not the year. To be from my birth year, it would have to be Passenger Pigeon Parmigiano, or perhaps Mammoth Stew.

The case of C-rats on sale here from 1978 is my birthyear..lol..coincidence same time you brought this up someone posted a case from my year..haha...But I already have a case from 79 ...so not worth it for me..plus I believe it was stored in a warm garage for years..surprised the box sleeve looks so clean
