Trays for MREs
Does anybody know any good makers/traders of trays which i could review rations upon (kinda like Steve's)?

Re: Trays for MREs
I tried asking a while back and got no replies. I guess there are no good substitutes in Europe.sdrozza wrote:Does anybody know any good makers/traders of trays which i could review rations upon (kinda like Steve's)?
Obviously if you want the US ones you can always get them from the US, but the shipping to Europe will really kill the deal. The word you wanna search for is "mess tray".
I ended up buying one from Germany on ebay.de instead. There you want to search for "kantinentablett".
This is the one I got.

While it says 5 compartments, it's actually more like 3.
One is for cutlery and has no real "depth" and one is for the cup, also without any depth. That leaves three that are actually usable for containing stuff.
Furthermore, if you do place a heavy cup in the compartment meant for the cup, the fact that it's placed in the corner and it's "shallow" means it doesn't really support the tray (doesn't reach all the way to the table) so the entire tray can actually tilt and the cup will topple over. Kind of annoying.
Maybe you can get some US ones somewhere here. I don't know. I didn't look too hard and just settled with the German one.
If you ever buy MREs from the US maybe you could convince the seller to sell you one of those trays as well if you're paying for the shipping anyway.
Other than that, I got no clue.

Amazon is your best bet. Its where a lot of us picked ours up at. That or check the local military surplus or restaurant supply places.
