I believe Russians call both of them mountain rations I have the other version they call the frog. They even joke if you want it join 33. or 34 mountain unit. I think these freeze dried here are just like more elite. BTW you can see the difference on the label are you getting the canned or this version, the labels are not the same.
Maybe the rocketstore can say more info about what is what.

Yes, you are right. FSB in Russia have an usual MRE (IRP - B with canned food) and the mountain version. Mountain MRE is very rare, it also include food in special packets and you can cook it with special heaters. They can work without fire, because it is usually windy weather in the mountains, so they work with water and they are easy to use.
