MRE Supplier? Sorry if this has been asked a million times!

Hello im new to ordering MRE's(they were free in my military days:)) Please tell me a supplier that has long shelf life, ouality Mre's at a good price.

Welcome to the forums, shihan.

If you're asking about US Military MREs, your only reliable source (if you can call it that) is eBay. Other than that, if you still have friends in the military, they might be able to buy some at the PX for you or you might be able to find some at an Army/Navy Surplus store.

Unfortunately for us MRE-seekers, the military has cracked down over the past 7+ years on the sales of MREs to the public. Unless you work for the military or for a qualified government agency, you can't buy them direct.

However, if you don't mind looking at the civilian MREs, I can point in that direction - we now have four manufacturer's of those.

The civilian Sopackos are very very close to the military they just come in a clear pack and no heater but the meals inside are the same the accesory package is a bit different too.

Sopakco recently changed how they package their civilian MREs - you now how the option of getting a case with or without heaters. Even better, they're the real MRE heaters, not the ones that have to be activated with the included salt water packet.

I like to buy mine in military surplus stores, or online although it can be hard to find. Most online military surplus stores sell sopackos and I think the link kman gave is better.

The aPack meal runs a little higher price, but it offers more variety per case and a higher nutritional content than the $56.00 meal option you are suggesting.

shihan, give me a couple of days and I should have an updated section with brand-new content on Civilian MREs on the website. The old section is pretty out-of-date but the updated section will have reviews and comparisons of all four of the current civilian MRE vendors.
