Mongolian Army ration

I've seen a picture of assorted field rations:



The Mongolian Army ration caught my attention. I can't find other pictures like that in the internet.

This is the image further remodeled based on the bad image of the quality made in front of about ten years.
The photograph of those rations was used without consent from some websites.

Though regrettable, http://10.pro.tok2.com/~phototec/ is downed about one week before.
And I think that that "China" is US-UGR...

Interesting picture. Can someone identify the "USA in Iraq" ration. Doesn't look like an MRE to me. It looks as if a twinkie is packaged with crackers and a few other container type foods.

That is some form of a "Go-To-War" ration, and sometimes referred to as a "Jimmy Dean".
Getting solid data, and examples has been tricky. Outside of Natick like publications.

The Go-To-War ration, uses off the shelf items. It is used until ration makers can catch up with demand.

Jimmy Dean, is a nickname for prepackaged meals.

Yeah there are several commerciless rations out there, these examples aren't always because actual rations aren't available they are cheaper and not as full of preswrvatives.
