Not sure if totally new or just new to me.

It could be special forces, or as gundog suggested flight crews.

I kind of lean to flight crew since the outer packaging is kind of flimsy and i dont think special forces guys are getting by on 1 of these a day, calorie wise, an air crew member would.
Seems like the flight crews would need a decent amount of water to re-hydrate their food. Then again, with planes like these~

 Now that I think about it, it could also be for vehicle crewmen. More specifically, armored vehicles. Like tanks, IFV's, APC's, and what have you not.
Good luck and may your rations stay unspoiled!

That's something else, not for aviation.

Russian Aviation MRE's are called RPASV or "РПЭСВ" in Russian. The ration box is almost as twice as big as all other Russian rations, and heavier too.
I believe the Aviation MRE's are all 5,000+ calories. You can basically eat that thing for 2 days. Like many, it consist of breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus the snacks.

Here is the video of one, 1. Unbloxing and breakfast, 2. Lunch, 3. Dinner

Thanks for the info! It's a bit funny thinking about a Russian bomber pilot sipping a juice box when he's thousands of meters up bombing Syrian rebels and ISIS targets

RPESV quite old ration, in that sense that in the Air Force he is used for a long time. Now bombings of terrorists of ISIS strategic bombers happen from the territory of Russia therefore our pilots should fly several hours to one party and several hours in another. But I doubt that they eat only these rations. It seems to me they with itself take a lot of tasty except rations.
Dear forumites, upon purchase of rations I don't bear responsibility for passing by a parcel of customs authorities of the USA,Canada and other countries. You make all purchases at own risk. Please consider it at the order of rations

And concerning IRP-BS I managed to find information that this ration was developed for special divisions, type of aviation spotters, artillery tipper-ofs and special troops. Which task to be mobile and fast, but isn't the whole a lot of food. Especially as such people are very limited on weight and it is more important to them to take as much as possible cartridges and the special equipment.
By the way I have several such IRP-BS.

Awesome info! It never dawned on me that this would be a specialized ration for units such as (or equal to, respectfully) forward observers and others.
Good luck and may your rations stay unspoiled!
