Stupid people on ebay

Post by BigMark » Tue Jul 25, 2006 5:56 pm

I know this isn't for MRE's, but I'm really tired of seeing all the freeze-dried food thats old, or that there is a whole lot of it, going for such a high price. This auction in particular is rediculous, seeing as you could just go and buy what you like rather than getting a whole case of something you don't for just $40 more.. what are the people selling this stuff thinking.. I'm not going to bother to copy over the link for the 9 MRE heaters for $10.. wtf..

That's just stupid eBay sellers for you. Sadly, there are people out there who are going to think this is a good deal and buy it. And it'll only get worse one a hurricane or two hits - then people will be trying to buy this stuff for any price.

All we can hope for is that they have to sense to do their own research and hopefully end up here - where we can point them in the right direction. :-)

well we dont have huricanes over here in germany and there is no need
to bulid up some huge emergency food storage, but something weird is goin on over here and i´m still wondering about....

i mean, until a couple of month ago at german ebay, for a box of MREs was about 35-45 €uros, i guess i orderd at least one of them every month, but right now people are goin crazy on MREs......

dont know, is it beacause of the summertime, but something happend and there is just a limited amount of MREs available at ebay, i just saw the end of an auction for a box MREs, someone made the bid with 67 €uros for INSP DATE 06/06.... dont know exactly, but i think this must be about 80$$ .....

please tell your president bush to send more MRE over here to the millitary storage, i think we are running out of them....., and thats no good idea....

so long EVERYONE
have a nice time

Here's another possible example of stupid people on eBay. I'm not sure if the stupid person is the seller or potential buyer. Take a look at this auction http://cgi.ebay.com/CASE-OF-12-A-B-MRE- ... dZViewItem.

Look at the first photo he has. It shows a dark brown package that you can clearly see labelled (on the package) as menu #8 ham slice. Stuck to the package is a white label reading beef teriyaki. Now, as I recall, the ham slice was one of the first mre menues released. So, is this guy trying to pull a fast one; or, is SOPAKCO using the old packages and relabelling them to save money. You decide.

Yep, it's like the Trail-Pack German civilian rations sold as German/Austrian/Dutch special forces rations on eBay depending on the seller's mood

The funny thing on those rations is the portrait of a Wehrmacht soldier with the WWII style eagle insigna on his cap, I don't really think the Bundeswehr would use that kind of pictures on its rat-packs
