Has anybody hear about Israeli tins similar to the French RCIR entrees?

In the late 80's the young brother was in the Army, he brought me some "lentils & turkey sausages" from a French ration : that stuff was kosher with "made in Israel" written on the label

Hi everyone, long time no see.

RE: Israeli rations- I had the "opportunity" to "sample" some of these in 1993, and well... let's just say the reason I am not observant is because of the food (yes, I'm a Jew lol).

Stef- French rations made in Israel? I have to say, I'm more than a little skeptical of that, considering that France doesn't even maintain diplomatic relations with Israel. That'd be about like having US rations made in North Korea.

DangerousDave- you'd be surprised how many countries still package group rations, even today. It's more cost-effective than packaging them in singles (for same reason why it's cheaper to buy a 2-liter bottle of soda than to buy the equivalent volume in 20-ounce bottles).

ASk- are you located in Israel?

deanopilot- 1) The age of those guys says they're reserve, not necessarily the bloop tube. I remember seeing quite a few active duty troops with flak jackets rather than kevlar, and as I am given to understand, that condition still exists. 2) fire away, man! roundeyesamurai@gmail.com (I don't mind if everyone here has my email address, feel free to write!)

Kman- yeah, the girls are alot better-looking. Take it from me, there's nothing quite like a self-assured, well-armed Jewess in uniform ;-)

Hello,
Roundeyesamurai: yes, I've seen and eaten that kind of rations, if read the kashrut indications on the label: it WAS Israeli, but it was in the 80's, the diplomatic relation were much better* and then there were a few Israeli made equipments used by the French army such as optical devices.

*in fact they were much better with many of our friends and natural allies, but that's another story...

Roundeye, Thats some great info. I like Jews, but since I'm a Gentile, I'll have to worry about the Jewish women only. I give them an "A". 8)
