MRE Pizza

Post by steve1989 »

Natick has been developing MRE Pizza for a good while now.. these picture here were taken May 1st & June 28th, 1989. Check it out, they were also working on a Cheeseburger, Burrito, and Ketchup & Mustard! (Why do I capitalize these things like they are people's name or something? Geez I'm nuts)

I am going to try & get my hands on some modern MRE Pizza - but that would require some real legwork.

Wondering how possible it would be to acquire a half dozen or so modern prototype MRE Pizzas? :?:

Gotta do some cold calls over at Natick and ask around - because this is something that needs to be shared via review - anyone have thoughts on this? I am pretty sure the projected release of MRE Pizza is 2017 - so perhaps I should just cool my jets until it's official.

2017 is the word on the streets, there was a thread about this earlier I know my eyes are peeled for it, I can only imagine it will be a item that everyone will want to try. If 1sg or supply sergeants catch any privates trying to ratfuck a case of mre's just for this particular mre they might actually flip lol. I imagine cold calls to Natick could work.

Here's the previous thread with video

I'm not a pessimist. but based on how long it has taken to develop this, I predict it will be disappointing, to say the least. I might go so far as to say it will be a colossal failure.

I would be more inclined to agree with you rocky it's just going to be meh, I doubt it will taste lIke absolute dogshit, because of all the field tests they do with soldiers now, instead of just doing it for the sake of doing it.
That being said it had a very Star Wars Episode 1 vibe to it, it's been so long everyone wants it, we have hyped it up in our head to be something that will be so good, that we are pleased with it initially but it's only after seeing it a couple or three times we notice, that yeah its pizza (Star Wars) it's just not that great.

Plus it's made for the military they a take the fun out of jumping out of airplanes.

I think you may be right, Rocky - I can imagine it being like the shelf-stable sandwiches in FSR's - by theory it sounded amazing and when I had first heard about those in 07-08' it seemed like the coolest thing.. then when i first had one, it was a tad bit anti-climatic to say the very least.

That has to be the absolute best prediction/analogy for MRE Pizza kwiklot - I am hoping it's not as bad as Episode 1 though in terms of comparison.. ohhh man if that's the case that pizza is going to be nasty! hehe

Elandil - I am 100% on board with that notion - why the heck don't we have sweetened condensed milk in at least one of the 24 menus? Those things are simply amazing - makes me wish I had a Polish Ration just for some of that "Mleko" (The baby blue tube with the cute little cat on the label). I love my sweetened condensed milk in Rations so much, I literally save the empty tubes.

Lol just as long as they leave out jar jar we might have a chance I hope I'm wrong, and even though episode 1 sucked the lightsaber duel at the end was good.

Yeah, lets hope Pizza doesn't end up being the Jar Jar of the MRE world....

This is so true! No only for this, but pretty much everything else you do a certain times.
