Malaysian Rangsum Tempur

Post by gundog4314 » Fri Jul 01, 2016 3:33 pm

Hey All,

Here's a quick preview of a Malaysian 24 Hour ration. It say's 24 hours but it really is designed for a day and a half as 2 of these are issued every 3 days. There is another pictorial of one of these on here from 2011 but they look pretty much the same.

Also issued, but separately are hexamine tablets and rice. I read somewhere, where a 50 lb bag of rice is given to a unit but I can't find where I read that.

Here are two links for more info on this type of ration. One is a personal one from a former soldier and the other a powerpoint that explains how the Malaysians feed their troops.

Really looking forward to trying all this stuff out over the course of the 4th of July Weekend. Cheers!

Looks a bit different, but still very interesting. I assume the heating is not included, but it's not the only ration without the heaters

I forgot to mention it is hands down the largest and heaviest ration I've received to date. 4 pounds 10 ounces or 2100 grams. The pics just don't do it justice...

It's great, gundog :!: :!: :!:

I was surprised that not rice but the cracker is contained in the ration. :D
It's indicated to this page that soldiers have dehydrated rice pack in addition to ration.
It's very interesting :!:

The biscuits and jam are for breakfast with either coffee or tea from what my friend Khor said.
