2014 MRE MENU # 17 Pork Suasage Patty Maple Flavored

Post by kwiklot »

So apparently the B case of MRE's is constantly being refined i remember just a pork patty with some tortillas and then i remember when #17 was beef teriyaki and then it was sloppy joe this seems like a pretty good breakfast menu.

I have to say that this MRE was quite good a nice little breakfast in fact i was a little worried when i picked it up because it felt so light but i think the breakfast would go tang, sausage patty , and muffin top and the crackers and cheese and nut mix would be eaten later.
I kind of carried the theme of the contest out in the woods does anyone have any input that would make these better?

Nice review man. This menu is pretty slim and patty is small, butit's awesome for peple who like sweet things (like me). This was in fact my first MRE I had in my life, I got 2 menues in the begining of 2015. one of them was this and I opened it first...I think this one got me hooked on MRE's...

Excellent review and pics. When I first had this MRE I too had doubts because of the weight. Now it is one of my favorite MREs along with the Pork Rib.I liked the earlier version with Granola w. Milk and Fruit. From 2012 the granola has been replaced with nut&raisin mix.Nut raisin mix for breakfast... :?
The patty is quite small and it also depends on which manufacurer's product you get.The size of the patty varies from 102grams (Wornick), 100grams (Ameriqual) to 74grams (Sopakco). The Pork Rib patties are also different. No secret that I prefer Wornick MREs and Sopakco is my second choice :-)
74grams doesn't seem much but compared to other entrees like Mexican Chicken or Spaghetti it's OK. I don't think that other entrees have more meat content but since there is no sauce and veggies in the maple sausage it feels "incomplete" for lunch to me.For breakfast it's fine.

Whoa! I had no idea there was such a big difference between Sopakco and the other two! I should try to get some to compare.
