New MRE Wraps

Post by gundog4314 » Mon May 30, 2016 6:49 pm

I just tried one of the brand spanking new MRE Wraps it was the Seasoned Pork with BBQ Sauce. It was the freshest MRE-Anything I ever tried as it was consumed just barely 1 month from it's production date. I tried one room temp and one warmed up in the microwave, I'm guessing toasting them would be real tasty and give you that textural crunch. I got it from The Epicenter in Oregon. Here's a few pics for now and the YT review will be up on June 4th.

Can you all believe that Date Code!?!? Wow!

Cheers,
GD

Haha, you beat me to the first wrap review! I just got some in from the Epicenter last week, but haven't had a chance to try them yet. Those are certainly fresh, indeed!

No trans-fat or MSG! Looks like a keeper.

And on the opposite end of this spectrum...I just tried a 16 year old Black Bean and Rice Burrito. You definitely came out on the winning side of this contest, gundog.

Pictures incoming tomorrow...

Hey thanks for the review and pictures gundog! I've been wondering what these were going to be like. I'm assuming they're going into newer FSRs - does anyone know if that's the case? Two wraps per pouch sounds like a decent amount of food - how filling would you say they were?

Welcome to the forums by the way Admiral Preparedness!

Yes, the (2015 IIRC) menu lists menu #6 with this meal. These are part of the *new* 9 menu FSR.

I can confirm that the 2015 Menu 6 contains a "Filled wrap BBQ Pork" and Menu 4 a "Filled wrap Mex Beef" ;)

6119?!? That's CRAZY fresh! I have to say that I've always liked most of the Bridgford sandwiches I've tried (though I haven't had the pepperoni stick in the cheesy bread one yet). These look VERY tasty! I might have to order a few to check them out. Thanks for the report Gundog, looking forward to the full review!
