I am working with a promoter who is doing a Prepper expo on the West Coast next spring. Trying to get him to let us do the same thing there.

I spoke with Tina, the show promoter, earlier this evening. Due to the high interest in this symposium and meet up, and the belief that this could very well be the first time ever to have an event dealing with Military Rations, we are expanding the Meetup and Symposium.

Originally we were going to have a small area to display a "mini museum" and have access to one of the classrooms on Sunday morning until noon for the meetup and symposium.

NOW WE HAVE OUR OWN AREA FOR THE ENTIRE WEEKEND! We will have 5 to 6 tables for the "micro museum" display right next to our classroom area. The classroom will have 30-50 chairs. And we can use the space the entire weekend, both Saturday and Sunday!

So, for those of you wanting to teach a class or give a talk, let me know. We will do an hour long each and have time for Q and A.

This will be a mini expo for Military Rations within the larger Preparedness Expo.

Tina will be notifying her Military Surplus Vendors and telling them to bring plenty of rations and ration related items. She will also start including it in her monthly news letters and sending it to her 42,000+ email database.

Guys, this Meetup and Symposium just took on a life of its own.

the QuarterMasters Museum is at Fort Lee, VA. From what I can tell, thats south of Richmond, while the show's north. But, looking at the maps, it looks like it's doable....has anyone thought of reaching out to them about a tour of the rations part, or having them come speak?

More GREAT news! It seems the show promoter is just as excited as we are concerning the upcoming MRE Meetup and Symposium!

A concern for many of us in the displaying of items from our collection is having strangers manhandling the items. I was planning on bringing some extra table top displays to put the items in. However, Tina texted me this morning to let me know the event center has actual glass display cabinets. She will get me the dimensions soon so we can figure out how many we will need. This is AWESOME! With these cases we can display our collections without concern for the general public man handling them.

So bring some items from your collections so we can get others interested in the crazy hobby (obsession) of ours.

Hey guys! Quick update. Several of you have emailed and PM'd me asking about accommodations in the area. The link below is for a campground very close to the expo. My wife and I have stayed there before with our camper and really enjoyed it. They have several very nice cabins to rent as well. And the facilities are super clean!

The only issue is that they are right next door to the amusement park, and the weekend of the expo is the busiest weekend for the park. So if you are coming to the meetup, you might want to look into hotels or cabin rentals pretty soon.
