Reminds of the TV series Long Way Down. Ewan McGregor is a massive motorcycle fan, and he and his friend Charlie Boorman have had a couple shows together about their adventures. In Long Way Down they rode together from the Northern part of Scotland to the Southern tip of South Africa, but mainly through Eastern Africa. Charlie did a show after those called Race to Dakar, where he entered the Dakar rally and attempted the classic race from Lisbon to Dakar.

Riding through the mountains, offroading with the local army, this thread's probably more exciting than the shows

Wow! That looks like a ton of kidney busting fun! I might have to get involved too especially with all the other guys here involved. I always preach it's not about nationalities, politics or religion. It's about people getting together, breaking bread a good drink and who can tell the funniest story.

Rock on guys & gals!

few days after start i lost my "platon the disc" or clutch in the sand so there come 2 guys Berbers who save me in 5 min after i was trying to dig myself about 3h and then they tow me about 40km trough the desert to the first town where are the mehanics who can and know how to fix my car and when i come there they wait me with the new part so they took out the engine to take broken clatch and when they do that we realize that my part and the new part arent the same and after that we realize that parts from EU and Africa dont have the same standard for the same cars so there was problem because i cant finde original part nowhere in Morocco so i was waiting 3 days and thinkin what to do and in one moment i say to myself maybe is there some replacement part and i call my friend in Croatia who give me the ID from that part so i can give that to this Berbers and after 45min they come to my room and tell me that they finde one same like mine in Casablanca, only one in all Country and i tell them just take it dont ask hehehehehe... 3 days mehanics didnt go home they have sllep in garage near the car..;) when the fix it they go home...;)
