If I can make it, I have a mifi and/or tethering on my iPhone so we should be able to make something happen.

Was at that facility in February. They had Internet access. Will work on getting it for the symposium.

Spoke with Tina. She said we will have Internet access and it is sufficient for live streaming. This is shaping up to be great! If we are doing live streaming, maybe we could do a live auction at the end of the symposium? We could do it as a charity auction to raise some funds for Ruleryaks museum. I could donate a few items. Have a buddy bringing me a bunch of stuff when he comes home from deployment in July.

If Housil is going to come over and display his ration collection, I imagine he'll need an airplane like this:

I just caught up on this thread - you've really jumped into the community head first! Organizing two meetup/display/symposium events is going above and beyond, and then on top of all that you're trying to find ways to help with the museum project  Lucky to have you on MREInfo BlackDogBob and let me know if there's anything I can do from my end to help. I don't know if I'll be able to attend either event in person, but there may be some other way to help out.

Just trying to feed the new hobby I love. It's strange, I have been in more military surplus stores in the last two months than the last 5 years. Haha. I love it! Dined on a Canadian MRE for dinner (my first) and wow! Awesome!

Anyway, I travel a lot and know a lot of people so it's easy to do. I am well known on the gunshow and Prepper show circuit. So most promoters of Prepper shows will jump in and help with stuff like this.

As far as the auction goes, it just kind of makes sense. It will bring excitement to the community and live stream and help out the museum at the same time.

Loving this!

BTW, so far, I have two people that have said if we do the auction for a charity, they will donate a case of MREs each, and EFS is donating a case of their freeze dried 24 hour kits and a case of their new 4000+ calorie meal kits. So if we can pull off the live stream, then we can do the auction and it will be fun and exciting for the whole community.

I don't think we will have Internet access for the live stream in KC, so we should just plan to do the auction in Doswell in October.

Have you set up a paypal account yet for the museum for donations? It would be helpful if you did that before the auction, that way people can pay it directly to the charity.

BlackDogBob wrote:Holy WOW Batman! So for those of you out West, that can't travel to the East Coast, super GREAT news. I spoke with Randy at RK Prepper Shows and he wants to do the same thing at the Kansas City RK Prepper Expo in August.
Kansas City is your definition of "West"?
