German survival rations
I picked up 2 of these online, one to try and the other for my collection. These things have a long shelf life of 11 years. They taste exactly like you would imagine, sweet. After all they are basically a giant sugar cube. They are designed to keep someone alive, just barely. One bar is 400 calories with 2 bars as a full days ration. So one box is box is for 2 days.
Re: German survival rations
The came also in green color as an "iron ration"

Re: German survival rations
The green one would be better because they also includes water sanitation tablets.
Re: German survival rations
Very interesting, are these meant for marine (Lifeboat) or Aircrew use?
Also I saw Housil's comment about a green package, would the color desinate for Army use
