Does Japan use dolphin meat in their rations?

Was looking around Ebay for international rations, and saw "dolphin" (iruka) in the description. I suppose it would depend on the species of dolphin, but what do you guys make of it?

Has to be Mahi Mahi - if it were Dolphin, that would be nuts! They DO eat that over there, though I think.

I have heard of Mahi Mahi being called Dolphin a lot here in Florida. Mahi is just a regular fish.

A "dolphin" does not exist in Japanese rations.
Fundamentally, Japanese people do not eat a dolphin.
As an exception, only one small town eats a dolphin traditionally.
That eBay page has mistaken.

I contacted the seller, this is what he said:

The MRE is written in Japanese.
I read Japanese.
Iruka is Japanese for dolphin.

I bought that exact ration from that eBay seller thinking it was dolphin.. I came to find out it wasn't dolphin at all, but pork sautéed in ginger instead! I told him it was a mistake and proved him wrong. He eventually offered me a partial refund for the "false description." I'm not sure why he still has "dolphin" on his item description. I guess people that bought it will complain if he admits it was a mistake. Check out my vid if you wanna see the "dolphin" review.

I was surprised that the true character of a dolphin is pork saute LOL

I imagined the reason for which the seller mistook it.
There are two dolphins in a Japanese character.
- イルカ
- 海豚

Generally, we use a "イルカ".
Your ration is a "豚しょうが焼き".
A "豚" is a pig. (Pork is "豚肉" and it is often omitted.)
Probably, the seller mistook the "海豚" for the "豚".
