Receiving international rations
Has anyone had any problems getting the items from overseas? I have ordered items from China, Russia, and the UK with no problems. Ordered 4 items from Poland and they never arrived. Will customs prevent military ration from coming through?

Usualy they only take "food" out so what did the sender declared at the customs form?MSSGMIKE wrote: Will customs prevent military ration from coming through?

Never had a problem thank goodness, as big money $$ shipping costs are usually involved!

Well, If they take only food out then they might as well take the whole package away.
I'm not sure what he declared the package as, but he did say he's shipped many rations to the USA w/o any problems.
I filed a claim through eBay so I guess we'll see what happens.

I'd contact the seller before filing a claim. The sender can get in touch with the service he/she used and investigate where your item is or if it is indeed lost or missing. Just my two cents.

Re: Receiving international rations
Importing meat and dairy into the US is illegal. Customs can technically confiscate or destroy any ration with a meat/dairy dish of any kind. Thankfully, they rarely do.
So far I've had a few rations confiscated by customs, and a few that have been cut open, dumped into the box, and then sent on to me. Sometimes an item sits in customs for weeks, sometimes for months, and absolutely nothing is done to them. The worst wait I had was coming from the Russian Federation about two years ago - a package was detained for about 70 days before it started moving again unharmed.
How long have your items been in limbo? Hopefully it's been at least a month if you've already filed a claim with eBay. I'd hate to see the seller have to reimburse or re-send items only to have the originals still show up. Definitely avoid filing a claim before trying to work things out with the seller directly. Hopefully they can provide tracking if they haven't already and maybe some insight into the delay.
steve1989 and gundog4314 have recently both received completely ruined Polish rations that were leaking liquid and had swelled massively. If you'd purchased Arpol's from the same seller perhaps yours burst in transit? If US customs destroys items that are being shipped to you they are required to notify you so worst-case you should get a letter saying they destroyed your items.

only issue i've ever had was my package from Alduin in the Phillipines was opened by customs, then taped up and sent on. Other than that, no problem other than time delays.

I haven't had any issues thus far. Like Ruleryak, I've found that items from Russia can take quite awhile, and things can sit in customs for a long time, but they've always arrived in good shape and untouched.

Re: Receiving international rations
So far from UK and USA I have had no problems or openings by customs here in Canada but I know I just sent a package to the USA with Canadian mre's (IMPs) in it and it was opened and resealed, delivered otherwise unharmed.
