2005 entrees Bee Patty & Chicken w/ salsa

Post by housil » Thu Jan 07, 2016 7:12 pm

coming home late today and not in the moods to cook any dinner, we decided for an MRE dinner.

I still have an open 2005 case that need to be eaten so we had #7 Chicken w/ Salsa and Mexican Rice, also #8 Beef Patty w/ Mexican Macaroni & Cheese.

I like to heat them up in water so they got better than in the microwave

Mrs. Housils #7 Chicken w/ Salsa

Mine #8 Beef Patty

No side? Yes, I don´t like hot/spicy food so I saved my side for Mrs and had salad (lettuce, tomatoes and potato) with my beef patty.

The food was great as usually and even with their age of 11 years still perfect. :D

I was about to say, I don't recall seeing anything green like that in any MRE's I got...at least not on purpose..

Nice look, that beef patty looks juicy and the rice turned out real well. :)

Both meals look very appetizing for military field rations. If Mrs Housil had MRE tortilla's with her meal, she would have the whole set.
How was the rice entree? I have been wanting to try that and it is for sale as a separate item. Actually that entire meal is one I want to try in the field.

As for yours how was the Mexican Macaroni and Cheese? (By the way my wife is Mexican and they don't make that, but we Americans do :D )
I would like to buy a few of those as it looks very filling and would be easy to mix with other entrees. I always like mixing MRE meats with some type of Starch when I camp. That course looks very good from here. Was the Cheese similar to MRE Jalapeno cheeses packets? They are very good in my opinion . Far better than canned MCI cheese

When is the US Army going to have GERMAN POTATO SALAD as a side dish? that is what I want as a MRE side dish

Due to Mrs Housil "great" (=spicy) with the lack of some salt.

I didn´t had this side either, but Mrs Housil did the next day. She really like it as it was pretty spicy.

Hehe, you & Mrs. Housil sure do know how to make these MRE's actually good! ;)

Gonna need some salad with that Beef Patty - haha! Actually, both look genuinely like something not from an MRE - the salad and potato salad there doesn't hurt either. :)

Looking good with an 11 year vintage. :D

Good to know you don't like hot/spicy food - because I am in the middle of shopping for snacks for the Housil home. ;)

Thank you for sharing yours and the Mrs. dinner with us! :)

Looks great! Can't say I've seen a beef patty presented more appealingly before.
