XMRE brand improvements ?

Post by Wolfsbane » Tue May 19, 2015 2:32 pm

Has anyone had a chance to compare the "new" XMRE to the originals ?
I recall not getting any spreads in my older ones.

I'm not sure if it's changed - there were quite a few copy cats calling their own MREs XMREs at first so it may be that you had some unofficial ones first.

As far as the civilian ones go, they don't seem too bad - I just don't think they're anywhere near worth what they cost. 5lbs less per case, only 6 total varieties, component variety is much less than an official mre, and they're just an aggregator - not a component producer.

From the ones I've seen reviewed on TwoYubes, they also contain fewer items than a real MRE. They're more like a TOTM than a full MRE - at twice the cost of a real TOTM.

Just got a case of TOTMs in the mail today oddly enough - $53 shipped, 2014 production.

Excellent! When you get it open, answer a question for me: are they packed as 12 different meals or not?
